Christmas or other seasonal additions to a Shuffle playlist

I have created a shuffle-like smart playlist that favors higher rated songs, and picks songs that I haven't heard in a while. I would like to have the smartplaylist be able to:

1.) recognize that the current date is close to christmas
2.) add a bunch of christmas music as a result

I have all my christmas music under the genre "Christmas", so recognizing that part is easy. Is it possible to have the ipod recognize what date it currently is?
