No AIFF or Apple Lossless Playback for iPod Shuffle

You might want to filter out AIFF & Apple Lossless in playlists designed for your iPod Shuffle.


Match all
Kind is not AIFF
Kind Type is not Apple Lossless

You'll avoid the warning dialog.

(I still haven't gotten around to removing the handful of mp2's in my collection- remember those?)

Or, if you'd like to be able to listen to those songs on your Shuffle, you could go to preferences and check "Convert higher bitrate songs to 128 kbps AAC for this iPod." iTunes will convert the higher quality songs on the fly as it fills your iPod Shuffle. It will not alter the original file; this is only for filling your iPod Shuffle.

That feature, at the moment, is only avalible through the iPod shuffle, however it will most likely be implemented in all ipods in a later iTunes release.

Your reponse doesn't make any sense as this hint is about the iPod Shuffle...

The hint was intended to filter out music formats that are not supported by the, ahem, iPod Shuffle. See the title of the hint.

There reason i had posted that was because i was hoping to use this feature on my ipod.
