Or, if you'd like to be able to listen to those songs on your Shuffle, you could go to preferences and check "Convert higher bitrate songs to 128 kbps AAC for this iPod." iTunes will convert the higher quality songs on the fly as it fills your iPod Shuffle. It will not alter the original file; this is only for filling your iPod Shuffle.
