"Two-fers" Smart Playlist?

Is there a way to pick a pair of an artists' songs from my library? I'm currently doing this manually and it would be great if there is a way to automate this. Thanks in advance.

i'm not sure if this is what you want, but here goes;

Artist is (your choice)

Select by least recently played (keep it up to date) and limit to 2 songs.

Is that any use?
